Through calming pre-recorded video lessons that will enhance your creative practice and further your knowledge of bookbinding at a fraction of the time and money it cost me when I was teaching myself.
There are 4 chapters to cover with a total of 17 lessons which can take between 4-10 hours depending on your skill level.
The fundamental techniques you’ll learn can be applied to all your future creations. You will learn how to adapt the measurements so you can make books in different sizes.
You’ll be able to pause and revisit all the lessons whenever you need to as you’ll have a lifetime access to the course.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Bind an alternative hardback journal that lays flat.
I’ll show you how to bind a book with a hidden inner spine that is flexible and lays completely flat making it easier to work in and allows bulky ephemera to be added to the pages if using it as a scrapbook. Your book will expand on the fore-edge without weakening the spine, the backbone of a book!
Make a solid book structure without fancy bookbinding equipment.
You’ll need just a few basic tools such as a needle, thread, bookbinding awl [not essential as you can also use a needle to make holes] a ruler, a cutting mat, a pencil and some glue. A full list of tools and materials + my favourite suppliers is available to download inside the course.
Add some interest to your finished journal.
I’ll show you how to create pages with a deckled edge, decorate the book spine for some added interest and seal the artwork on your book cover to give it a beautiful finish.
Make different sized journals and adapt them to use as a photo album.
You’ll learn how to adapt the measurements used in the course to make books of any size and orientation, from miniatures to large coffee table sized book. You’ll also learn how to add interleaving sheets to create traditional style photo albums.
I’ll teach you how to make a beautiful blank book, you choose how decorate the cover and fill the pages with your creativity.

I’m Moneeza, a book artist & avid journal keeper.
I’ve been binding books since the early 90’s. Back then I could never find journals that fulfilled my creative heart. I needed my pages to lay flat and the book structure to allow me to fill it to the brim with art, photos and mementos, without it bursting at the seams! So I began to teach myself how to make my own books to fill with mixed media.
I began my creative career in 2012 making the exact style of binding I teach inside my debut course, The Keepsake Book.
Bookbinding and creative journaling helped me heal from a life threatening diagnosis by bringing me joy in the darkest of times. I want to share the joy that this ancient craft has brought to my life with others out there who want to learn a new skill.
