A one-of-a-kind paperback journal featuring screen printed Japanese chiyogami paper stylised chrysanthemums on a vermillion background and within a hand painted border.

In Japanese and Chinese art, the chrysanthemum is a symbol of longevity and inner strength because it blooms late into the Autumn and Winter seasons.

The exposed spine is hand embellished with imitation gold leaf, aged with walnut ink. Hand bound with tea-stained handmade cotton and linen rag paper, this is a journal for those who find beauty in imperfection and a little olde-world charm.

Its earthy, toned pages make a lovely backdrop for mixed media, pressed flowers and botanical studies. Use it as an art journal, recipe book, scrapbook, as a herbarium or gardening journal to keep the seasons close.

Paper Notes: Best suited to soft pastels, technical drawing pens, acrylic and gouache. The paper is only light sized, so it will only take very light washes of watercolour.
