This vintage hand embroidered dowry bag known as a Bhujki is traditionally made as part of a bridal trousseau for transporting clothes and jewellery to their marital home, but also used to store prayer books. Hand embroidered from cotton, it features coloured silk and wool embroidery and ‘shisha’ mirror-work.

1970’s or earlier - Despite its age, it remains in good condition.

Use for storing a prayer book, stationery, art supplies, your favourite journal, make-up or jewellery! The possibilities are endless!

*Will take a small Storyteller journal or any A6 sized journal.
