One-of-a-kind hand bound journal featuring a beautiful vintage velvet cover embroidered in metallic thread in platinum tones with beaded details. The spine is covered in a vibrant chartreuse toned vintage velvet which was salvaged from an old cushion cover, part of it was burnt, but that was the part I found most endearing. The hand woven endbands lend a decorative touch complimenting the overall design as well as offering extra reinforcement to the text block.

This truly luxe ledger shaped journal is kept encased in a copper and glass shadow box to display in your home, inspire and spark conversation, but most of all to be filled up with art, words, dried flowers or snippets of anything your heart desires. Although I made this journal with a painter in mind, it would make an equally beautiful wedding guest book or a journal for writing poetry, quotes or prayers.

The most special part of this journal is actually hidden on the spine between all the layers where I write secret quotes and phrases. This journal has the Latin phrase ‘AMOR FATI’ which describes an attitude of love of ones fate, regardless of what happens in life, good or bad, including suffering, loss or even ill health. To see it as a nudge towards a direction we’re really longing for and to make the best of a bad situation. I love adding such hidden phrases to my one-of-a-kind journals, I like to think they will in some mystical way mind the life of the journals guardian.
